Today I am grateful to announce our inaugural class of investors who have joined the North Sixth Group family. Here is more on the incredible team that has backed us on our journey.

Let me tell you how this all started.

About two years ago we started to consider investing in other companies. We had built a great network and were constantly seeing amazing entrepreneurs and deal flow come across our desk. The one thing they all had in common was that they wanted more than just capital. They really wanted value creation.

We started to add these assets to our portfolio and diversify just like you would with your investment portfolio. Except we wanted to be active and hands-on in helping the operators grow by leveraging all the great things we had built and all the knowledge we had accumulated over a decade in business.

The common thread? All additions to the portfolio had to share Passion, Purpose and Progress. To put it bluntly, we didn’t want to waste time backing businesses that didn’t have great people at the helm and didn’t address things we were passionate about. Speaking personally, I was at a stage in my life and my career where I just didn’t need to mess around with people and businesses that didn’t get me excited.

So we did one deal. Then we did another deal. And another. We kept learning and improving one deal at a time. Today our portfolio has several business units from all sectors, everything from professional soccer teams to business services and financial firms to technology and more.

People started to invest. Most started by investing in an asset of which they were most interested within our portfolio. In time, many started learning about the bigger picture we were building and asked about becoming an investor across the entire portfolio.

So that’s how we got to where we are today. I am truly honored to be flanked by so many amazing investors who are now partners.

Beyond being meaningful to my family on a personal level, the commitment from our investors gives us access to resources to grow and build a truly incredible asset portfolio for years to come.

One of the hardest things for entrepreneurs is the exit. I feel blessed that mine came from people I know and trust and partners who are passionate about driving value to the future of our portfolio companies. In fact, it’s not an “exit” at all. How many people can say that their “exit” is really just the beginning? For that I am grateful to each of our new partners who have put their faith and trust in our vision.

To Exits. And most importantly, to Beginnings.
